Job Description:
SRL is seeking an Applications Engineer to bridge the technical gap between our engineering team and our customers, ensuring that our materials and devices transition as smoothly as possible into real-world applications. This role combines deep technical knowledge with customer-facing communication to support product qualification and iterative improvements, troubleshoot integration challenges, and identify new commercial opportunities for the engineering team to analyze.
Core Responsibilities:
• Support customers throughout evaluation and qualification programs
• Develop and build application-specific demonstrations and PoC devices
• Tailor engineering specifications around customers’ system requirements
• Collaborate with epitaxy, device, and manufacturing teams to optimize product performance
• Prepare technical presentations, application notes, and product documentation
• Periodically travel to represent SRL at customer sites and industry conferences
Required Qualifications:
• M.S. or Ph.D. in Materials Science, Electrical Engineering, Physics, Chemical Engineering, or a related discipline (or equivalent industry experience)
• Strong understanding of semiconductor device physics, power electronics, and relevant market pulls
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to explain complex technical concepts to both engineering and business specialists
• U.S. Citizenship

• Experience with semiconductor characterization, customer support, or both
• Experience in failure analysis of power electronics
• Public presentations and customer outreach
• Technical writing and sales support
