Job Description:

SRL is seeking an MOCVD Engineer to lead the development, optimization, and production of gallium oxide epitaxial structures. This position is responsible for operating and maintaining commercial-scale MOCVD growth systems while steering process development from initial concepts to production-level manufacturing. The ideal candidate possesses deep expertise in oxide/nitride/III-V/other compound semiconductor epitaxy and has demonstrated development of high-performance epitaxial structures through experimental design, process optimization, and diverse materials characterization.

Core Responsibilities:

• Along with a small team, operate and maintain MOCVD reactors for research and production

• Develop epitaxial growth recipes for novel semiconductor materials

• Optimize growth parameters and other adjacent manufacturing techniques

• Exhibit tight process control to reproducibly manufacture multi-layer epitaxial structures

• Scale research processes into repeatable manufacturing procedures

• Design and execute statistically driven design of experiments

• Establish standard operating procedures and work instructions

• Implement statistical process control techniques

• Interpret/correlate structural/electrical characterization results to continuously improve growth processes

Required Qualifications:

• M.S. or Ph.D. in Materials Science, Electrical Engineering, Physics, Chemical Engineering, or a related discipline (or equivalent industry experience)

• 5+ years of hands-on MOCVD process development experience

• Strong understanding of semiconductor crystal growth kinetics/surface chemistry

• Proficiency with scientific data analysis and experimental design

• U.S. Citizenship

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with compound semiconductor growth on commercial MOCVD platform

• Advanced process optimization and root cause analysis skills

• Background in solid-state semiconductor device physics

• Technical documentation
