Semiconductor Materials Research Internship

Job Description:
SRL is extending an offer to provide undergraduate and graduate students with an immersive educational experience in advanced semiconductor research and development. Interns work alongside engineers and scientists to gain hands-on exposure to epitaxial growth, semiconductor device fabrication, materials characterization, and research commercialization.
This internship is designed to supplement academic learning through structured mentorship, technical training, and supervised laboratory experiences. Interns are assigned educational projects that promote professional growth and provide practical insight into semiconductor research within a collaborative R&D environment. Must be a U.S. Citizen.
Learning Opportunities:
• Semiconductor materials science
• Cleanroom processing including photolithography, thin-film deposition, and wet/dry etching
• XRD, AFM, SEM, and Hall measurements
• Technical documentation and scientific communication
• Engineering project management
Responsibilities:
• Assist with supervised research activities and experiments
• Collect, organize, and analyze experimental data
• Conduct literature reviews supporting research objectives
• Attend engineering meetings and technical seminars
• Present project findings at the conclusion of the internship
Preferred Qualifications:
• Currently pursuing a degree in Materials/Electrical/Mechanical/Computer Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, or a related STEM discipline
• Excellent professional, analytical, and communication skills
Program Duration:
• 15-20 hours/week during academic semesters; scheduling is flexible to accommodate coursework
• 12-16 weeks during semesters, 13-15 weeks during summers
